I am back home after spending the last month on the beautiful Isle of Wight doing lots of festivals, gigs and interviews. It has been a really busy month and it has been hard work but it was so worth it as I had the best time there.
I started my time on the Isle of Wight at V-Dub Festival at the end of August, gigging on the Main Stage and Grace’s Cafe over the weekend. It was so lovely to see some old friends and get to play some of my new songs that I had been writing ready for my summer gigs.
After V-Dub Festival, I did an interview with the lovely Dom Kureen for kureen.co.uk talking about things from my latest and upcoming gigs, veganism, Hello Vegan Bee and my other musical endeavours. It was really good fun getting to talk to a like-minded animal rights and music enthusiast and talk about things that actually matter. You can check out the interview here.
I was also invited to play a gig at the John Chevron Centre for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, which is a charity organisation for people with life threatening diseases. I have supported this charity for years because of all of the things they’ve done to help and support people. Beforehand, I was invited to Isle of Wight Radio to have an interview, with one of the hosts, Adam, talking about the upcoming gig and a bit about the charity. The gig went really well and I had a great time singing and playing piano to such kind and supportive people. I also got free wine, which is always a plus.
To finalise my time on the Isle of Wight, I went to Bestival with Joe Pratt-Flynn, who is one of the guitarists in our band, Pretty Censored. We spent the weekend gigging around the Festival site doing acoustic versions of all of our songs as well as throwing in some of our favourite songs to cover too.We had a blast gigging and enjoying the festival with the Bukuu Team and Kureen.
Finally, now I am back in Cheltenham, I have my first gig back here on Thursday 22nd September at the Frog and Fiddle, playing lots of original music in celebration for the new Freshers this year. It’s free entry and we have loads of great acts throughout the day so come down. Check out the Facebook Event here.
Thank you so much for a great month of excitement on the Isle of Wight. I had such a great time, I’m sure to be back soon! That’s all for now, so keep updated on my latest gigs and I shall update again soon,
