I’m Jazzy Heath and this is my new website. I’m a singer, songwriter that hopes to make lots of music in lots of different genres to appeal to a large audience. I will be posting everything that is going on with my music and maybe some other things that you might find interesting. Enjoy!
I’ve been pretty busy recently when it’s come to gigging. I’ve officially finished college forever now so I have even more time for doing gigs. My most recent gig was last night at the Quay Arts Cafe at Acoustic Originals. I didn’t even know I was playing but when one of the bands didn’t show up, I offered to play and did a 20 minute gig. The audience were really considerate and listened for the whole thing, no talking or anything despite the venue, so I was really pleased about that.
My next most recent gig was a small gig at a local primary school. My good friend, Edan, who is a brilliant guitarist, and I was asked to play for a school BBQ. Although, it was a small gig, I had a really good time, lots of laughs and ended up getting given free popcorn, which is always a bonus.
I had a gig a few weeks ago at Wight Rock Bar, which was a night full of hysterical laughing and great musicians. I ended up supporting Grant Skarkey, who is an amazing, hilarious, musician, who aims to have 40 albums in the next 20 years. He’s already on number 5. The gig went really well and then I got to chill with my friends for the rest of the night watching Slombers Woke and Grant, who both played amazingly. ULX Music Magazine also came along and wrote a really positive article on the night.
I’ve also got some really exciting news! My first ever music video has been released for my song ‘My Spirit’s Free’ and I’m so happy with it! Charlie Parker filmed and directed the video and he did an amazing job of it. View the video here!
I’m also having another music video made for my song ‘Freedom’. I got the opportunity to do it a few weeks ago and we recently went filming for it. I’m so excited to see the outcome and I’ll post when it’s finished and online!
Finally, I am doing lots and lots of preparation for recording my music. At the moment I am rehearsing with my backing band, Jazzy Heath and The Go, to record a full, 10 track album by the end of this year. I’m really excited about this because I’ve only ever done EP’s so this will be my first album ever! The album is going to have a pop/rock feel to it, which is new and exciting for me, and will be all original material.
Next, over the summer, I am recording an electronica pop EP with my good friend, Toby Ouston, who is pretty much the king of writing pop music. I will be writing and bringing songs to the table and then Toby is going to help me record and produce the tracks. I’m so exited about this because I’ve always favoured electronica, and aspired to artists like Adam Young, so to be able to finally create one of my favourite music genres is awesome!
That’s all for now, but keep your eyes open for new releases, gigs and music!
